Did a Apple ipod touch with a camera come out?

My friend claims that he got an ipod touch with a camera. He said it wasn’t an iphone. When he showed me over Skype, it looked like one but I’m not sure. Did a Apple Ipod touch come out with a camera or does my friend just have a ipod with the same set up as the ipod touch=camera?
